SENTIMENTAL STATUE STOLEN

A FOUR foot statue of the Virgin Mary was stolen from the back garden of an address in Birch Way, London Colney between 11pm on November 10 and 4pm on November 11.

PC Ian Aldridge from the London Colney Neighbourhood Team said: “The statue, worth about £400, has extreme sentimental value, as it used to be on the victims daughters' grave.

“I would like appeal to whoever has it or anyone who knows where it may be to contact police on 0845 33 00 222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

THREE MEN CHARGED WITH DISTRACTION BURGLARIES

THREE men have been charged with distraction burglaries in Hatfield, London Colney, Park Street and Kings Langley at the weekend.

David Kerrigan, 18, of Wrottesley Road in Harlesden, John Cawley, 46, of Kingsdate Place in London and Patrick Cawley, 50, of Kingsley Place in Kilburn have been charged in connection with a series of distraction burglaries which took place on Saturday, December 6.

These include:
- A distraction burglary in Park Street
- A distraction burglary in the Birchwood area of Hatfield
- Two distraction burglaries in London Colney
- A distraction burglary in Kings Langley

The men were arrested by firearms officers on normal duties shortly after the final incident in Kings Langley and were dealt with by the Operation Manhunt team.
